Discover the utopias and disillusions of Russian history: your walk starts at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, built in the 19th century to commemorate the victory over Napoleon, then destroyed to be replaced by a huge Soviet palace that will finally never exist, and rebuilt in the same way in the modern Russia.
You cross the former "Red October" chocolate factory, whose confectionery has rocked the childhood of generations of young Soviet children, and which is now the cradle of the hipster wave in Moscow, full of trendy bars and start-ups’ open spaces. You continue your journey through the Fallen Monument Park, where the unused statues of Soviet Union heroes are stored in bulk.
Finally, you get in Gorky Park, a prototype of the New Soviet Man Park, which became an abandoned area in the 1990s, and which is now experiencing a new youth, a symbol of the renewal of the Russian capital, where today's youth meet to dance open air salsa. If you have some energy left, you can then visit the New Tretyakov Gallery to admire the masterpieces of Russian avant-garde painters.
