The main tourist attraction in Moscow, the Kremlin is the heart of the Russian State and one of the dearest symbols to the eyes of Muscovites. This is the essential visit if you wish to really discover Moscow!
The Kremlin was first mentioned in written records in the 14th century. Despite the damage the Kremlin suffered at the hands of Napoleon and his troops, the current complex has remained essentially the same since the 15-17th centuries, when the old fortress was replaced with a vast architectural complex to showcase the power of the new Czars of Russia.
Today, the Moscow Kremlin is in the form of a triangular enclosure of high red brick walls extending over 28 hectares between the Moskva River and Red Square. The walls of the Kremlin are punctuated by 19 defense towers, each with its own name and its own architectural style.
In addition to the Presidential Administration in the Senate Palace and the official residence of the President in the Terems Palace, the Kremlin contains many architectural treasures, including four cathedrals, two churches, and many palaces. Our guide will present them to you, and you will be able to visit several of them.
