Our kayaking excursion to the fateful cruiser Aurora is an exciting adventure through the heart of historic Saint Petersburg, bringing you face to face with the very ship that heralded the Russian Revolution and the beginning of a new age, that of the Soviet Union. In joining us, you'll be rewarded by picturesque panoramas only ever seen from the waters of the Bolshaya Nevka. You'll discover the true beauty of such sights as the Rostral Columns of Vasilevsky Island and the imperial Winter Palace. You'll pass by the Palace and Trinity Bridges, getting up close and personal with the medieval Peter and Paul Fortress and, of course, the cruiser Aurora itself. At the very least, it makes for an unforgettable photograph!
The excursion starts at the Cabin of Peter the Great (No. 6, Petrovskaya Naberezhnaya), where you meet your group and instructor 15 minutes before departure time. You'll paddle around the cruiser Aurora, take plenty of photographs, and then make your way under the Trinity Bridge and along the beach at the fringe of the Peter and Paul Fortress towards the Rostral Columns of Vasilevsky Island.
The hour and a half you'll spend exploring the River Neva with us will surely result in your falling in love and being enraptured by the views across the Rostral Columns, the Peter and Paul Fortress, and the Winter Palace. We'll proceed at a leisurely pace suitable for all participants, ending the excursion right where we started.
